Today, we opened our 'Den Building' zone and what amazing dens we have already built! In our OPAL CINI assembly, the children were brilliant at discussing and creating rules for the den building! The children worked together and used lots of resources to help them create showing excellent play skills.
We can't wait for the next zone to open in a few weeks time!

Wow, what an amazing lunchtime we had! After Mrs Pring's OPAL assembly, we were able to open our first zones on our playgrounds. In the assembly, we created rules for each zone and discussed how we could play safely in each zone.
There was lots to choose from! Mud kitchen, digging area, performance area and small world! We've had castles built in the small world area and delicious pancakes made in the mud kitchen!
New zones coming soon ⏳

Over the holidays, our school grounds have been having a makeover!
After materials were generously donated to us from Bradfords Building Supplies, three Oldmixon alumni were able to build us this amazing stage for our 'performing zone'! We are so grateful for your generosity ❤️
Soon, we will be able to open more zones on our school grounds to improve the play for our children!! Keep your eyes peeled 👀

The children have been learning about the structure of flowering and non-flowering plants, looking closely at different features such as roots, bark, stems and leaves and learning about their important functions.
We went on a welly walk to help us identify different plants and trees in our environment. The children then had a go at painting their own trees, using what they had observed and produced some lovely artwork as a result.🎨😊 5 Likes
Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy designing and making their own feathers, thinking carefully about shape, colour and texture. This week, they used all of these skills to create their very own birds - complete with pipe cleaner feet to help them stand up on their own!
We are so proud of their creativity and effort, and the finished birds look absolutely wonderful. A fantastic combination of science, art and design in action!✨🦜 3 Likes
